Google Assistant 'Real Voices'
Google strives to build inclusive products, ensuring all audiences see their authentic selves reflected.
The 'Real Voices' initiative honors this by serving users 30-second clips of authentic community stories about culture and identity via Google Assistant (e.g., "Hey Google, Tell me a human story").
We partnered with the Google Assistant team to produce voice-forward collections for Asian Pacific American Heritage, Hispanic Heritage, and Pride months.
Our initiative aimed to amplify stories at the intersection of personal identity within the United States. To create authentic content, we centered our efforts on sourcing, qualifying, and facilitating interviews with diverse cohorts, ensuring representation across a wide variety of demographics and perspectives.
The "Real Voices" initiative explored the cultural understanding of what it means to be American by recording interviews with more than 60 diverse individuals. These voices, sourced from the Asian Pacific American, Hispanic American, and LGBTQIA communities, were featured on every Google Assistant-enabled device throughout the US.
We were honored to receive a Silver Anthem Award for in Branded Content or Collaboration, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for The 3rd Annual Anthem Awards.
