How Google Hires
The Google Employment Brand team helps candidates and new hires understand what ‘Life at Google’ is like. To shed light upon the process of how Google hires its workforce, we set out to create a series of content that would engage and support prospective candidates using distinct editorial visual creative and brand journalism to tell these stories.

THE DISTILLATION
We researched the process and interviewed key stakeholders to create the ‘How we Hire’ landing page that now lives online at Google’s careers site. We enlisted the expertise of UK-based illustrator, Jing Zhang, to visualize the process from end-to-end.

SNACKABLE SEGMENTS
We were able to highlight certain sections of the process to provide prospective candidates with guidance on how to prepare for the role they want.

SELF REFLECTION
To help candidates get started, we developed content for an illustrated carousel social post that acts as a guide for self reflection to prepare for a new job search. We were thrilled to be able to work with local Bay Area illustrator, Alice Lee.

RESUME TIPS
Inspired by puzzles and tangrams to build the perfect resume for everyone, we created this script and accompanying animation to help guide people on best practices for updating their resumes.

INTERVIEW TIPS
To round out our content series, we developed a listicle of common expectations for candidates who will be interviewing for a role at Google. We accompanied each piece of advice with a looping animation, illustrated by Jing Zhang and animated by her partner, James Wignall.
